My current house is an early 1980s Barratt house in
York. I moved in on Friday 23rd August 2002. It didn't require
major renovation but the bathroom and kitchen needed bringing up-to-date.
So far my DIY activities, in date order, have included:
Garden renovation, front and back.
Decorated lounge/dining room
Decorated home-office
New bathroom
Changed layout and replaced
original pink suite with modern white one. Fully
tiled and new vinyl flooring.
Replaced dining room window with patio door
New, open-plan Kitchen
Included removing existing dining room/kitchen dividing wall. All new cabinets, appliances, tiling and flooring. Also included redecorating the pantry. See Photos
Re-decorated hallway and landing.
Created utility area within garage.
Re-decorated master bedroom.
Installed
TV aeriel socket & halogen downlighters. Increased useable storage within fitted cupboards. Dulux Camille - Crimson Feature wallpaper with "Roasted Red" painted walls and Ivory Cream woodwork. New bed, headboard and curtains. Existing pale carpet cleaned. See Photo
Re-decorated guest bedroom.
Recovered tiny bit of extra space previously boxed in to hide heating system duct-work. B&Q Colours feature wallpaper, "Dulux Soft Moss 2" pea-green walls and Ivory Cream woodwork. New light-beige carpet. All new soft furnishings. See Photo
