If you catch up a number of slower vehicles ahead, take a moment to try to determine why they are travelling slower than you. Usually you will find that there is a reason. Perhaps a HGV is obeying a lower speed limit or a tractor or digger simply cannot go any faster. If road conditions mean there is no chance of you being able to overtake the slower vehicle anytime soon, don't simply follow the other vehicles blindly. Often you will find that they will try to travel faster than the slower vehicle and repeatedly speed up and then have to brake to slow down. Try to judge the speed of the slowest vehicle ahead and attempt to maintain a similar speed. You'll gain more space ahead of you whilst not making any less progress.
