First six photos were taken on my Wednesday evening stroll around Buttermere lake. The peaks you can see are Haystacks, High Crag and Fleetwith Pike. The remaining photos were taken on my Thursday morning climb of Red Pike and then from the top as I walked across High Stile and High Crag before walking down Scarth Gap Pass and back to Buttermere along the lake side.
The brilliant weather on Thursday morning allowed me an early 5am start. I watched the sun rise above the Derwent Fells at about 5.45am. I had the whole place to myself until about 8am and then by 9am I had only seen 4 other people! I got back at my campsite just after 10am ready to soak my feet in a stream before heading home.
