Below are pictures taken during the construction of an octagon extension to Richard's house.

March 2002. Taken from the main garden looking towards the rear of the house showing the proposed location of the extension.

The top-soil is removed to make way for the foundations.

Foundations laid and block wall basement almost complete.

May 2002. John finishing off the basement. Rendered, waterproofed and floor laid.

New rainwater drainage pipe laid down full length of garden to open gully.

July 2002. The octagon's walls appear.

October 2002. Walls and roof nearing completion.

November 2002. Wind and moisture barrier added to walls, windows in and roof finished. Also, Octagon-House link built.

Adding siding (or cladding) commences.

December 2002. A cleared kitchen prior to knock-through into new extension.

Old meets new!

March 2003. View from new kitchen showing doorway into octagon and new front door.

July 2003. Interior walls are drywalled.

August 2003. Walls painted, floor tiles laid and aquarium base begun.

September 2003. Da daaa! Kitchen pretty much complete.

Window in old sitting room made into doorway into extended kitchen.
