A page for anyone to comment on absolutely anything!

Hi!

This page is just a bit of fun really. Basically you can post a comment about just about anything! I'll start off with a few general musings of my own - It might even turn into a bit of a blog! If you feel the urge to respond to anything I've said, or maybe you have something of your own you want to comment on, then post away!

Anyone can post a comment. You just need to login first and to do this you will need to have registered. As a minimum, registration only requires you to choose a username (public name) and enter your email address (which is kept private and will not be disclosed to anyone else). Once you have registered you'll receive an email straight away with your login details and that's it - you can then post away!

And don't worry if you post something in haste. You don't have to repent at leisure. You can Delete your own comments at anytime.

Enjoy! Have Fun!
Stuart

Some of you long-standing visitors to my web site (back in the days when the address was radox.freeserve.co.uk) might remember I used to have a page called "Help me clear my mind". There I would post a few questions which were obviously troubling me and I would invite people to post the answers to help me out. It was quite fun and that is what this page is intended to be. Also it's so much better than back when your comments were sent to me via email and I had to manually update the web page before anyone else could see them. Now your comments appear straight away and I can no longer be accused (as I faintly remember being back then) of filtering people's responses! :-)

I think one of the "Help me clear my mind" questions was "What is the difference between single and double cream". Gripping stuff you have to admit! I think I got a few suggestions, some serious, but I never did find out for sure.

General musing: Don't buy tomatos from Costco. Talk about tasteless! (Costco can't sue me for posting on here can they?) I love 'em really as anyone who knows me knows.

Well isn't this fancy! I am not sure if I want everything to be in italics...can I use html tags when commenting?
And what is the difference between single and double cream? It's not something we have in New Zealand.
Toodlepip :)

What's so wrong with italics!? Thought it had that nice 'handwritten' kind of appearance :-) Maybe if enough people have an adversity to them I'll change it.
I think single cream is thiner than double. But then where does whipping cream come in? It's so confusing even to us none-NZ folk.

Maybe you should have email notifications set up if someone 'replies' to a comment? But then they aren't really replying are they... Wow, I'm so helpful!
My only aversion to italics is they make me feel like I'm leaning slightly to one side...

You know, I did actually think about adding that facility. Maybe one day.

Easter here in the UK. Well I guess everywhere actually. It's a very windy, cold Easter here then. I have Suzy visiting whilst Dad is away on another holiday - in Scotland actually - bet it's cold up there. The weather was nice enough yesterday for me to brave a long walk with Suzy. Today she has no chance. Happy Easter everyone - ok - since it's only you and me sok. Happy Easter sok :-)

Happy Easter to you too! I am in a show at the moment, so I don't feel like I'm having much of a holiday, what with the late nights and things, but it's fun nonetheless. I also don't feel I have enough chocolate eggs this Easter...

Look here is a picture of me in my show! Link
I am the one in the pink dress with various odd expressions on my face...

Ok. Have you spotted the new additions?
1) User comments made in the last 7 days are highlighted with a rotating NEW image.
2) Web links mentioned in user comments are now clickable (so long as you include the FULL web address including the http bit at the start)!
3) The front page (Link) now shows the total number of new user comments added in the last 7 days!
Pretty cool eh? OK - Not perfect but better. Keep those improvement suggestions coming.

Suzy goes home today and then I'm picking up Mittens (Anthony and Helen's cat Link). She's coming to live with me. Hopefully she won't do too much damage. Straight after writing this comment I'm going to find my water sprayer. It's going to always be at my side the next few days. One false move by Mittens and SQUIRT - she get's it! Cruel but fair.

First official photos of Mittens settling into her new home. (Link)

Awwww Mittens is adorable! I love the photo of her on the sink. Be nice to her!
I like the floaty new signs. Does the word link turn up automatically? Let me try. Link

Spring is here! Lovely sunny day here yesterday and expected again today.
Yesterday I was volunteering at Benningborough Hall helping fit a new gate. Very satisfying job. And best bit was - loads of treats! Sticky Buns & Easter Eggs!

Not content with finishing my own kitchen (Link) renovation last weekend after 1 year and 1 week, today I started redecorating my dad's kitchen. After day one, it looks like, touch-wood, we should have that one finished by the end of the week.

Last week's redecoration of my dad's kitchen actually took one day longer than planned but by the end of day 3, everyone was happy.

Hmm the commenty box is down the bottom but the newest post is at the top! I think the commenty box should be at the top. As someone who does not maintain a website in any way, I demand you do things my way! :P

I am coming to the UK in October, and if I am in your county I may descend upon you to catch up over a drink! Be warned!

Good point well made! I agree it was a bit confusing. Not deliberately wanting to disobey you, I've put it back to how it was ;-)

Excellent day spent volunteering in the Lake District yesterday. Link

I'm amazed that a rainy day of scooping up well-aged poo was so rewarding! :)
How often does your volunteer group go out and about? Is there something most weekends?
Posted by StuartDalby, Sat, 3 May 2008 2:32 pm
I tell you it was!
They try to have a task every 2 or 3 weekends. Just a nice frequency.

It's not often you can guarantee good weather in the Lake District but this week you could. Since Tuesday the weather has been continuous sun, warm (23C/73F) with just a gentle breeze. So Wedneday I drove up there and got a couple of walks in. Link

It's oh... so... quiet...
Nobody got anything to say? :-) Has everyone seen my Mittens Home Video? Link

Just in case anyone has missed it, I'm doing a sponsored walk on Monday 11th August 2008. More details can be found here: Link. I welcome any donations you can pledge. I'm not sure if I do or do not want the weather to be as hot and sunny as it was yesterday!
