I have a MK5 R32 and this happened to me last year the garage cleared it for me and it was fine for almost a year i'v just taken it to a local garage and they charged me £30.00 just to tell me it was the switch whilst looking for a switch on the internet i came across your article tried it and fantastic result the light now comes on and off when switched.
