Hi there! Regarding your article: https://www.stuartdalby.co.uk/vwgolfmk7/dpf

Thanks for some interesting observations about the dpf and it's regeneration.
You mention in the article that you were going to do some more logging. Did you? Care to share it?

It's a couple of years later now, how has the dpf treated you? Any problems?

I'm planning on buying a -16 Passat 2.0 tdi. I will drive 20km {one way) on a daily basis. Of course there is going to be some shorter, and longer, trips as well . Do you think this is enough for the dpf to regenerate?

Hi Carl,

Thank you for your email. Glad to hear that your found my DPF article useful. Since I wrote that article other VW Golf TDI owners have contacted me with comments about their car's DPFs. One owner in particular recently provided some very interesting insights which led me to actively monitor my car's DPF regeneration again. I am not quite ready to write another article but plan to do so.

Good luck with your purchase of a Passat. I think your driving will be sufficient for the DPF to regenerate.

Stuart
