I have just read your Mk5 Golf info on the Internet and found it very
interesting.

Do you know if there is an easy way to reset the service light on a Mk5
Golf?

Sorry for the delay in replying.

There is a way of reseting the service light on a Mk 5 golf but it does
change the service regieme from Variable/Longlife servicing to Fixed
Interval/Time & Distance regieme. I haven't ever reset it myself but from
http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/thread/660641.aspx the steps appear to be:
"1. with ignition off press and hold trip reset

2. turn on ignition and release reset (by ignition I don't mean start
engine, just turn to the position before this)


3. press minutes (on clock).

The display should return to normal mode and the service regime will be
time/distance."
