Scangauge II ???

Hello Stuart ,
Since finding details of the Scangauge II on the internet about 9 months ago I managed to buy one from a UK source on 30th.April 2007 for £116.------- UKOBD.
I have found the initial calibration process to be on the lengthy side and am waiting for the next fill up to compare the SG calculation with the full tank to full tank method I have used hitherto ------- but I feel there will not be much in it.
As you have had your Scangauge II since August 2006 I would be grateful for any observations and tips that you can pass on to me, together with any other UK outlets of which you may be aware.
Best Wishes and Safe Driving.--------------- Eric
PS.---------I can recommend the Talex Lite speed camera detector system.--------ALDI will have them on sale for £59.99 next Thursday ONLY from 10.00am.

Hello Eric,
I got my Scangauge whilst in the US for the equivalent of about £96. I remember seeing there were UK sellers but didn't investigate further.
I've been very impressed with the Scangauge II. Nice little device, works reliably & doesn't look out of place on my car's dash. I was initially concerned that US gallons are different to our gallons and that this might result in it giving incorrect MPG figures. I emailed Scanguage support and they assured me this wouldn't matter. Feed in our gallon/litre info and you'll get our MPG figures out.
I cannot remember the exact setup/calibration process but i guess I just followed the instructions in the guide. I haven't needed to re-calibrate it since last August. Sometimes when I fillup I check the number of miles it thinks I've done with the number of miles I've actually done (from the car's trip odometer) and they are usually within 1 or 2 miles (over about 600+ miles). I did have to tweak this initially though - I think via the speed percentage adjustment setting.
I recall that the Scanguage reports slightly slower speeds than my car's odometer. This might be because car odometer's typically over-read. I still drive to my car's speedometer though.
Let me know how you get on or if you have any other queries.

Hello Stuart ,
Thank you for your very prompt reply.
The MPH reading on the Scangauge II is almost spot on with the readings on my Tomtom Go 300 Sat Nav and my Talex Lite Speed Camera Detector System.
Cheerio for now .---------------------------------------Eric.
