I'm writing
anyway to say thanks for a great review. Just exactly
what I was looking for! I've just ordered a 1.9 TDI SE
(with satnav) so it was great to hear you impressions
and to read all the extra snippets about the car. I
found the brochure surprsingly lacking in info -
especially on the satnav - so its great to get an
owners first-hand perspective. I must say I hadn't
noticed road noise on my test drive, but I did think
the diesel sounded a bit "boomy" at 70 mph. Other than
that it does seem to be a delicious car!

Thanks for the email. Glad you liked my review. I
think you will be very pleased with your new car. I
certainly am.

I'm now into about week 3 of ownership and I find
myself wanting to go for drives just for the sake of
it! I've now done about 1500miles and so I'm starting
to rev the engine more and get a feel for the power.
Very pleased.

I think I noticed the road noise just because there
was so little other noise. Now I don't notice it. And
I do alot of motorway cruising at 70mph and I've never
found that noisey. The cruise control is excellent.
