Hello, Found your web page after having problems with the bonnet lock on my golf. I replaced the lock, left the front cable in.

Stuart, the bonnet has refused to shut a couple of times on my 08 bluemotion golf and I have done the Basil Fawlty thing and thrashed it senseless, it then decides to work after I've given up slamming the bonnet and woke the street up, and after being left for a while . aaaargghh! I had to drive 30 miles with bonnet not shut properly last time and it just happened again GGgrrr So I de-greased it with steam washer for an hour, still won't shut. THEN I found your article - mate you are a genius and your explanations are easy to follow even for the mechanically simple-mined like myself: 2 screws, 3 alan-key bolts and a blast of wd40 and job is a good 'un. THANK YOU!
