VW GOLF MK 5 GT TDI 2.0L 54 reg
central locking issue, all doors except front passenger lock/unlock fine.
any idea what the symptom could be?

Hi Hitesh,

You have described the symptom. I suspect the cause is a faulty door lock mechanism. This is a common problem. I replaced the one in my car's driver's door about 4 years ago: http://www.stuartdalby.co.uk/vwgolfmk5/drivers_door_lock_replacement/.

There are some videos on You Tube of people repairing them. I am not sure how permanent these repairs are but might be worth a try.
