Hi, I have a Mk5 golf, 2004.
As I don't have reversing aids I bought a beeping reverse bulb, same spec as the original bulb.
On fitting, I find that the light works when I put the car in reverse, but not the beeper.
This is the fourth bulb I have tried.

Any info would be appreciated. Have you heard of this problem on the Golf Mk 5 before?

I have not heard of this problem before (or of beeping bulbs for that matter).

The Mk5 has quite a lot of complicated electrics. I think it can detect when a bulb has blown. It therefore might not be supplying a steady 12v feed to the bulb which I suspect is confusing your beeping bulb.
