Hi there, I have a mk5 golf gti, I was wondering if you can change the remote central locking to just one press of the button to open both doors? At the moment I have to press the key fob twice to open driver door and passenger door. It's a 3dr. Any help appreciated

Hi Steven,

You can change this. If your car has the full/highline MFD (Multi-function display) and has a Convenience menu I believe you can change this setting easily there. It may be called something like Single Door Unlocking and you want to disable this. I'm not 100% sure though as my Mk 5 does not have the full MFD.

You can definitely do this with a tool such as VCDS (http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/). You need to connect to the "Comfort System" module and set "Channel 003: Selective (Single) Door Locking" to 0/Off. See http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf/Jetta/Bora_(1K/5M).

A VW dealer would be able to do this for you but they will most likely make a charge.
