2 buttons on door frame?

Hi- I have a golf 2.0 gt and have just found a switch with 2 buttons on the door frame upright between the front and rear door ? Can you help me understand what these do? Have a pic of a car raised at front and the other has like a car with wireless lines above it?

Thanks
Robbie

Hi Robbie,

Both these buttons are to do with the car's alarm. The button with the pic of a car is to turn off the knock sensor(s), for example to prevent the alarm being triggered whilst the car is being towed. The other button is to turn off the interior sensors, for example if you are going to lock and arm the alarm whilst someone is inside the car, you leave the windows ajar, etc. You need to press the appropriate button and lock the car within a minute of turning off the ignition. The button should light up to confirm the function has been selected.

Hope that helps,
Stuart
