3rd service?

Hi Stuart
I have been reading your Mk5 pages with interest, i am also an owner of a 1.9tdi shadow blue golf! i love it, and its due its 3rd service soon (long life oil) and the reason i am emailing is to first say how much i enjoyed reading your pages, and also to to ask - what do they do in the 3rd service (other than change the oil, check levels of things)?? Normally i would know this by looking in service book but i've just moved house and cannot locate it! Would you have a PDF or list to hand of jobs done on this service? thanks very much

Hi Helen,
Thanks for the nice email. Nice to hear when people find my webpages useful.
Your car's 3rd service should be just the smaller/cheaper Interval Service. Basically just an oil change and a few checks as you said. In addition though there are a few time/distance based extras such as replacing the timing belt (every 60,000 miles) and brake fluid (every 2 years).
Let me know if you need any further info,
Stuart
