Red Low Water Light flashing even when reservoir full
Posted by private, Mon 11 Jun 2012 11:25 pm
The red low water light would would keep flashing even with the reservoir full. I held a magnet against the back which didn't help. I took the sides off as shown and determined the magnet sensor was bad. I clipped the two wires near it and brought them so I could strip them and wire nut them together. Walah!! Everything works but must watch so the reservoir does not run too low.

Hello I have the same problem. I tried to open the sides of the machine, to no avail. Is this the only way I can solve to red light indicating low water even though the reservoir is full?

I have not had this problem myself but I think I have heard of at least 3 people now who have. In each case it appears to be the water level sensor inside the machine (which detects the captive floating magnet inside the water reservoir) which fails and causes this problem.
Unfortunately I do not think you can buy just a replacement sensor and so by-passing the sensor as mentioned above would appear to be the only solution.
You do have to use quite a bit of force to remove the side panels (see http://www.stuartdalby.co.uk/miscellaneous/tassimo_repair/). I recommend you have another go as the machine is unusable as is.
