Hi Stuart, Just came across your very helpful website.
I am in the process of buying a 54 plate MKV golf.
It has full service history and 42000 miles on the clock.I wondered if you know whether there should be a Distance To Empty warning on the MFD and also if there should be a warning that the boot is open on the MFD.At the moment it shows if any of the doors are open but not the boot.
Judging by the photos of your wife's car,mine is the
2005 model.

Hi Ronnie,

Your wife's prospective car does indeed sound like a 2005 model just like
mine. They do not have a trip computer and so no Distance to Empty reading
on the MFD (but they do have an external temperature display - unlike the
2004 model). Also, there is no dash warning for the boot being open,
however, you will find that the interior light will not go out if the boot
is not shut properly.
