Hi Stuart, I found yr article on the Golf bonnet catch very useful...it helped me identify and cure a similar problem. But, yes i have a Mk5 but its a later 08 and has some signicant differences to the earlier Mk5's (we had one of the first DSG TDi's in '04) so it's DIY element is less easy! I have a few photo's if you want to update yr article in anyway.

I am glad to hear that you found my bonnet catch article useful. That is a very common problem which can be solved quite easily and cheaply if caught early but can be a real pain if left too late.
