Snapped Tailgate Wiring

Hello Stuart!
Just wanted to say "a million cheers" for posting the problem description about the rear hatch, lights and so on.
My car has had the exact same symptoms.
I was just about to order a new "opener motor" (one I've already replaced once before -appx £ 150,- in Norway), before I came over your post.
I also, of course, checked all the fuses, but nothing to find there. Go figure, hehe.
After opening the rubber cover, I found that not less than 3 (!) cables were cut off.
It took 15 minutes and _zero_ cost to fix the problem.
Happy as a salmon after fixing this with so little effort.
