Hi Stuart,hope you can help,i recently purchased a Golf 5 2007 Trendline fitted with a RCD 300 Radio,for some reason the menu key does not work,radio stuck on one station,it shows other local stations preset but when i wanna select them doesnt work,also radio does not play Mp3 format music only original cds,

Please help,is the radio stuffed?

Hi Clint,

It sounds to me like one of the buttons could be stuck down which is preventing any other button presses from being detected. If it was me I would open it up and give the button contacts a clean. Of course there is a risk that you could cause more damage but it sounds like the radio is pretty useless as it is. You should be able to source a replacement radio fairly cheaply.

Only the later RCD 300 radios had mp3 playback facility. They are easy recognisable because it says mp3 just above the CD slot in the centre.
