Hi Stuart. Firstly, thanks for your excellent website: a wealth of information. I have a query regarding the front bumpers incorporating fog lamps on my 07 Golf GTI. My bumpers seem to have another set of lights incorporated into them, but I can't for the life of me find another one on the net that looks like mine? Unfortunately I recently drove into someone's towbar and cracked both the light and the bumper itself, and have been searching for replacements online: absolutely nothing forthcoming! Can you shed any light on this for me? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your speedy reply. Please see attached photographs. As you can see, there is a second set of lights beside the circular fog lights, however I have no idea what they are for, and cannot seem to find another car which looks like mine on the net. Is mine a one-off? Surely not.

Any light you could shed on this would be much appreciated as it's driving me bananas trying to find replacement parts.

Thanks for your kind words about my website.

Unfortunately my Mk 5 didn't have fog lights and so I don't know much about them. When you say "another set of lights incorporated into them" do you mean different to the normal lights or your car has two sets of lights?

If you want to email me a photo I'll see if I have any more thoughts.

Hi David,

Nice looking car but those lights look like a one-off special to me. I’m guessing they are wired up as daylight running lights? I would remove them. You could buy replacement grills (about £10/grill on eBay) to house the OEM/circular fog lights.

Thanks for your speedy response. I hadn't considered that it could be an aftermarket part, but it obviously must be. Yes, you are correct they are indeed wired up as daytime running lights. I will have a trawl through ebay and see if I can find a replacement, otherwise I'll pick up a pair of stock replacements.
