Hi Martin,

You know, I've never needed to change the indicators bulbs on my Mk V and so
I don't know for sure but this website looks good:
http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/volkswagen-golf-hatchback-2005-05-2 .

As for the best climate control settings for MPG: I'm a big fan of leaving
the ECON function OFF so that the AC can comes on as necessary to cool the
interior. I don't think it makes a big difference on fuel economy. Your
driving style and typical journeys have a much bigger influence. See
http://www.stuartdalby.co.uk/vwgolfmk5/vwgolfmk5mpg.php . Only other things I
do is if I get into the car and it is really hot is open the windows for a
few minutes to let the hot air escape. I do use the ECON button if I decide
to drive with the windows open (not often). No point cooling air which
quickly escapes. Possibly when it is really hot outside (25C+) I might turn
on the air recirculation to try to hold onto the cooled air for longer.

Hope that helps,
Stuart

Thanks for your reply Stuart it seems you have good knowledge of golf mk5s.i will bear in mind your recommendations on the climate control which is really useful.as for the front indicator bulbs this remains a mystery as the workshop say that the led ones i supplied don't fit.mine are two prong and the car has four.but all website links show a golf Mk5 having the same bulbs as I purchased.i guess I will have to take them put myself and see.
